Brenice Menzies Murlette

Artist’s Information

Brenice Menzies Murlette is an accomplished photographer.  She has been recognized for several of her photographs and continues to work in photography.  Brenice has always expressed herself creatively through painting in oils, acrylics, and mixed medium.  Her versatile painting style ranges from whimsical children’s paintings to detailed oils of animals and landscapes.  Brenice has worked within a heart series for several years and displays publicly every Valentines season.  She has been referred to as “The Queen of Hearts”.  Many of her landscapes can be viewed year round at Possum Kingdom Lake.  Brenice is currently a professional school counselor with RISD and is a private practice family therapist at Hopeful Hearts Center LLC.

Philosophy:

“I like to explore different styles and forms of creative expression.  Art allows us to work through and possibly identify subconscious feelings and aspirations for both the artist and the viewer.  It is one of the oldest and most basic forms of expression.”

Brenice also feels strongly about “giving back” and therefore donates a portion of all sales to charities benefitting either children or women.

Education: B.S. Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas.
Masters of Education Texas Woman’s University
Master of Science Texas A&M Commerce
PhD in Family Studies – May 2012
